WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-8) today spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives against the Boehner plan in favor of America's working families.
"Decades of the Majority's policies have exploded the deficit. The cost of just the Bush Tax Cuts will be 39 percent of federal debt by 2019, and even the GOP/Ryan's budget bill adds $6 trillion to the national debt," said Pascrell. "They are choosing to extend this state of economic and political turmoil another six months- around Christmas- by demanding another vote. And from the Ryan/GOP budget, to Cut Cap and Balance, to the Balanced Budget Amendment and the bill before us, it is clear as day that the Majority's failed polices do not believe in shared sacrifice and that they will be used to protect the tax breaks for very wealthy and multi-national corporations."
